Job Responsibilities :
- Being the front line for customers over email support tickets as part of 24*7 rotating shifts.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to our hosting products.
- Investigating and identifying solutions to various kinds of technical issues spanning DNS, Apache, IIS, Email servers, Hosting control panels, Application firewalls and associated technologies.
- Escalating complex system-wide issues or bugs to L2 support and software engineering teams.
- Ensuring speedy resolution of customer issues while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Reviewing existing product documentation and publishing documentation in internal & external knowledge bases.
- Pro-actively monitor product/services/site performance, uptime, availability and analyze logs / metrics and recommend/contribute to fixes.
Skills :
- You are acquainted with / have mastered some of the below skills.
- Working knowledge of Operating systems - Redhat based linux flavours & Windows 2003/2008 server.
- Linux skills - Basic server administration with knowledge of commands like top, ps, netstat, etc.
- Fundamentals :- Excellent DNS and networking fundamentals. TCP/IP.
- Application protocols :- Working knowledge of SMTP, HTTP, FTP, IMAP, POP.
- Control panels :- cPanel, Plesk, Virtuozzo.
- Web and database servers :- Apache, IIS, MySQL, MSSQL.
- Soft skills: Strong customer support focus and decent english communication skills.
